Scenarios and process

For us, the most enjoyable part of boat designing is new ideas and innovations. So, discussion is free. Email Rob (harryproa@gmail.com) to discuss any of our stock plans, WIP boats, your ideas or your dream boat. This discussion will lead to one of 4 scenarios:

a) Your requirements fit an available set of plans. You decide on a model, buy the plans which include unlimited email and Skype advice and information on Intelligent Infusion, currently 10 pages of drawings and advice which is added to and updated on a regular basis. Modest customization of these plans is available, at a prearranged cost.

b) Your requirements fit a WIP/Concept. You decide on a model, buy the plans and we complete them. You receive the plans as they are drawn, with a guarantee that you will have them for each component before you need them. Plans include unlimited email and Skype advice and information on Intelligent Infusion,currently 10 pages of drawings and advice which is added to and updated on a regular basis. Modest customization of these plans is available, at a prearranged cost.

c) Your requirements are for a new design. All custom projects are different, so part of the discussion process is determining a price for initial modeling based on your requirements and the cost for the finished plans. After the modeling is done, you decide if you wish to proceed. If you do, the cost of the modeling is deductible from the final cost of the plans. Plans include unlimited email and Skype advice and information on Intelligent Infusion, currently 10 pages of drawings and advice which is added to and updated on a regular basis.

d) Your requirements cannot be met. Not a problem, the discussion will have been enjoyable, and things may change in the future. Australian customers should add 10% gst to these prices.

Study plans

We do not supply study plans as we hope there is adequate building information and photos on this site. Any further questions: contact Rob.

Whole Boats, or parts of boats, can be ordered to whatever stage you require; windward hull, leeward hull, beams, mast, boom, rudders (price on application) contact Rob.

Harryproa owners and builders tend to think outside the box. They have a lot of excellent ideas and many of them are more than capable of designing their own boats. To assist with this, Rob is more than happy to work as a consultant. The work can be anything from taking some back of the envelope sketches and turning them into a set of plans through to advising on the smaller details. Much of this is gratis, as Rob enjoys it, but for the bigger jobs a price is worked out beforehand.

Goodwill fee


Because harryproas are a brand new boat type, and few have had the chance to sail them, we would like to encourage owners to take people sailing. Anyone who does this for someone who subsequently buys a set of plans will recieve 10% of the plans price. In the event of 2 or more owners taking someone sailing, the 10% will be split according to my best judgement. This will be final, no appeals nor ill feeling are allowed. The 10% comes directly out of my pocket, and I reserve the right to curtail it at any time, with due notice. It is a goodwill thing, to encourage owners to take people sailing, not a means to pay for your boat. It does not excuse potential customers from the customary obligation to supply lunch and beer/wine/whatever for the owner and his crew!
